We'll give you results that count, worldwide.

Your universally recognized English achievements

You need credible results to prove your achievements. That's why we offer 16 levels of English learning within our school, running all the way from beginner to advanced proficiency. Every level is divided into manageable units to fit easily into your life, and we'll accurately test your skills so that you start studying at the correct level for you.

Every time you complete a level within EF Englishtown, you'll receive a diploma certified by Hult International Business School to chart your progress. 

To further help employers, friends and family to understand your achievements, we've carefully aligned each of our 16 levels with the six CEFR (The Common European Framework of Reference) levels used globally to grade language proficiency.


English Levels Reference Chart

Beginner Level 1 - 3

You have little or no previous exposure to English.

Elementary Level 4 - 6

You can use basic grammatical constructions and have basic situational comprehension.

Intermediate Level 7 - 9

You converse easily about everyday matters but have a limited range of style.

Upper Intermediate Level 10 - 12

You have a strong understanding of most texts and conversation topics. Your grammar is strong too.

Advanced Level 13 - 15

You are a confident communicator and have full use of functional language.

Upper Advanced Level 16

You communicate with nearly the same proficiency as a native speaker.
