Roddy’s Word Fun

Roddy's Word Fun consists of 10 activities designed to build up vocabulary. Each activity has a different theme and introduces 6-10 easy words in English. The meanings of the new words are presented using attractive pictures. Learners have a chance to see, hear, and say each new word. They practice the new words by doing activities which use pictures, words, and sound to engage students’ language learning skills.

Each activity...

• is suitable for children aged 7-12 who are beginners in English
• takes about 15-20 minutes to complete
• provides instant feedback to the student
• does not need special guidance from an instructor

1. Colors: red, blue, green, yellow, pink, purple, orange
2. Animals: cow, horse, mouse, chicken, cat, chick
3. Numbers: Say and understand numbers from 1 to 10.
4. Places: prepositions 'in', 'on', 'next to', 'under'
5. Everyday things: toaster, car, phone, ball, desk, knife, chair, plate, robot
6. Parts of the body: head, neck, leg, arm, foot, hand, toe, finger
7. Clothes: jacket, boots, T-shirt, swimsuit, fur coat, suit, baseball cap, pants
8. Feelings: happy, sad, sick, hot, cold, tired, afraid, angry
9. Food: fish, chicken, hamburger, popcorn, cheese, cookies, carrots, bread
10. Alphabet: Say and understand the letters of the alphabet.
