This charge will be processed immediately after you confirm your purchase.

A private lesson is a one-on-one meeting with a teacher using the Englishtown virtual classroom. You can schedule it at your convenience and choose the conversation topic.

You need to have a basic subscription to purchase coupons.  To buy coupons, please click the "Private Lesson Purchase" or the "EFT-V Purchase" link on the school page or on the "My Account" page.  Choose a set of coupons and click "submit".  Your credit card will be charged as soon as you submit your order. This order is non-refundable.  Coupons must be used within 1 year from being purchased.

Yes.  Access to Premium Services requires an active Englishtown subscription. You cannot access your Premium Service without an active subscription.   You will lose access to your Private Lesson or EFT-V coupons if your basic subscription ends. However, if you renew your basic subscription before your coupons expire, they will still be available to you.

Each coupon is good for one 40 minute 1-on-1 private conversation class.  We sell different packages of coupons and then we keep track of how many you use in your account status. When you book a private lesson, we deduct one coupon from your total.  Coupons must be used within 1 year from being purchased.

We offer several options:

At the time of your lesson, click the link to the "Private Lesson" page to meet your teacher.  The link to the Virtual Classroom appears shortly before the start of the lesson.  After your first session you can book additional sessions with that teacher, or find a different teacher by booking a new session.

To book a lesson using your coupons, click 'Private Lessons' on your Course page.  Start by setting your local time.   Choose the time of your lesson according to when it's most convenient or when your favorite teacher is available. You can even set teacher preferences, like type of English spoken or area of expertise, by using the 'Advanced Search' function.

If your lesson booking is successful, you'll get immediate confirmation in the Booking Calendar and by email. The Calendar also displays all the lessons you have coming up. Once the lesson is scheduled, choose from a wide range of topics in categories like Business and Travel, or request your own topic for discussion.   You may need to select a different time slot if there is no teacher available.

At the time of your lesson, click the link to the "Private Lesson" page to meet your teacher.  Your lesson will be taught according to the topic you chose at the time of booking.  If you did not choose a topic, the teacher will prepare material for you.

After each lesson, the teachers will send the evaluation to your email address.  You can also look at your evaluation by clicking on the “My Private Lessons Report” link on your "My Course" page.

Private lessons must be booked at least 48 hours in advance of when the lesson is to take place.   Lesson bookings may be cancelled but not changed.

To cancel a Private Lesson, click on the booked lesson in your Calendar and select 'Cancel Lesson'. This must be done at least 48 hours before the lesson is to take place in order to have your lesson coupon refunded.  Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled lesson time will result in the lesson coupon being forfeited. 

Just cancel your existing booking and then book a new session time on the site. This must be done within the cancellation timeframe.

Englishtown does not guarantee that you will be matched with the same teacher every time you book, even if you book for the same time.
