Then you can take our placement test to find your level. We will help you choose your first course and start studying. And your first 7 days are free!

Work on your own with interactive media to study grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening, and pronunciation.
Go to a live, online speaking class taught by a Native English speaking teacher.
Speak with other students around the world to solve challenges in real time in our partner exercises.
Complete your writing assignments online and your teacher will return them to you with individualized feedback.
Check your progress with periodic tests. Your report card is constantly updated, and your teachers add their comments.
When you finish a course, you can receive your university-recognized diploma. Then, enroll in your next course!
How do I know what course to take?
We’ll help you find the perfect course!
First, we suggest that you take our 20-minute placement test to determine your exact level.
We will then recommend which courses are appropriate for you. We have a wide-variety of courses for all ability levels and learning needs.
You can take as many courses as you would like, but please, one at a time—so you can track your learning properly.
What if I am an absolute beginner?
That’s great! Our courses come in seven levels, from absolute beginner to near fluent. You can attend beginner speaking lessons, and work at your own pace through lessons tailored especially for you.
We also offer support in your own language inside the courses. Just click on your tutor icon whenever you need explanations in your own language.
How does the Free Trial work?
We give you 7 days to decide if you want to become a paying student. If you request cancellation within 7 days after registration for our service, your credit card will not be charged. The free trial offer is only available to customers paying on-line.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel on the 'Account Information' page in your Personal file. Click 'Personal file' on the top of any page on our site.
How often can I study?
As often as you would like! You can log onto our site whenever you want. Your unlimited access to our program means you can use it as much as you want, whenever you want! Best of all, teachers are always available for you.
Do I need any books?
No, everything you need is online! We provide all the tools and information that you need to learn English, right on our site.
What is a conversation lesson?
A "conversation lesson" is an online class, taught by a teacher using voice chat. It is almost like speaking on the phone, except over the internet. Your computer will automatically download our simple voice chat program. All you need is a microphone and headphones connected to your computer. Talk to teachers and students from all over the world
When can I attend conversation lessons?
Your subscription includes 30 hours of conversation classes per month that you can use anytime. Just log on when you are ready – no advance scheduling needed!
Do I talk to real teachers?
Yes! You speak to real, native-English speaking teachers. It is all online and in real-time. Your computer will automatically
download our simple voice chat program when you connect to our
website. All you need is a microphone and headphones.
What does university-certified mean?
Suffolk University in Boston, USA has certified the Englishtown program. Educators there have looked at our curriculum, objectives, approach and faculty and approved our measures. Suffolk University has recognized the value of the Englishtown education and placed its seal on our certificate. Employers and schools around the world recognize this certification.
What does my computer need?
Any recently purchased computer comes with everything you need to take advantage of Englishtown. To speak with our teachers, you just need a microphone or headset. Then just connect to the internet (you don't even need broadband!)
Please note that our features are not all accessible on the
Macintosh platform.
What if I need help using Englishtown?
Help is available whenever you need it. For technical help, use the Technical Check. Our extensive help section is just a click away. And most important, Personal advisors are just an email away and will answer all your questions personally. Just click on the Contact-us link at the top right of any page.
I didn't know I could learn a language on the Internet! But Englishtown lets me talk to real, native-speaking teachers with voice chat. I have learned so much so fast.
