Homelessness

Homelessness is an important problem in America. Some experts say about two-million people in the United States have no homes. Homelessness is a temporary problem for most people, but it is permanent for others.

According to surveys, most homeless people are single men and families with children. A few are young people who have left home.

Americans are homeless for different reasons, such as a weak economy and high housing costs. Many workers have lost their jobs .

However, many homeless people do have jobs. But these people don't earn enough money to pay for housing. Or they have to spend all their money on medicines.

Experts say some people choose to be homeless. These people usually have lost connections with their family and friends. Many suffer from mental illness. Or, they may be dependent on alcohol or drugs.

We all need to be more tolerant and work together to solve this problem. Perhaps one day, we will need help ourselves.
