Enhance Your Job Prospects with Technology

Currently, over 9 million Americans are unemployed. With so few job openings and so much competition, today's jobseekers need a competitive edge to stand out from the masses.

According to technology expert Brian Nichelson, the edge people need could be as simple as improving their skills and keeping up with technology. "Remaining uninformed about technology could keep you from landing your dream job," he says. "Today's managers are looking for qualified, tech-savvy individuals who know how to use the newest computer programs and are able to maximize their

productivity by using the technology at hand."

Technology is accessible to everyone and it is not as complicated as people tend to think. Nichelson says that the first step is to develop a learning strategy customized to meet your individual needs and resources. As he explains, "You need to: 1) Determine your needs; 2) Assess the resources available to you; 3) Rank the resources in order of usefulness to you; and 4) Make or allow the time to use the resources." By following Nichelson's steps, you will be well on your way to becoming a technology guru , not to mention, a more attractive

job candidate.

Brian Nichelson is an expert in the field of technology and has been bridging the gap between technology and people for over 25 years. As Founder and Executive Director of TechMatters Institute, Mr. Nichelson helps organizations create implementation and learning strategies that enable users to actually use the technology at hand .

You can learn more about how to harness the power of technology in Nichelson's new book, Taming Technology: You Can Control The Beast
