Level 0 – Introduction to English
Students at this level have had no exposure to English. They need to be introduced to English sounds and basic words used for everyday objects and study on the computer.
Levels 1 & 2 – Beginner
Students at this level have had very little exposure to English. They can use and recognize a few common words and expressions. They have little or no grammatical knowledge.
Levels 3 & 4 – Elementary
Students at this level can talk about interests and everyday activities and use basic grammatical constructions. They can understand simple messages, instructions and directions.
Levels 5 & 6 – Pre-Intermediate
Students at this level have basic situational comprehension but limited creative capacity. They can ask and answer questions about familiar topics and discuss past and future activities.
Levels 7 & 8 – Intermediate
Students at this level converse easily on everyday matters but have a limited range of style and expression. They can read and write fluently about familiar topics.
Levels 9 & 10 – Upper Intermediate
Students at this level have a good comprehension of most non-specialist texts and a high level of grammatical competence. They can express and support their points of view with confidence.
Levels 11 & 12 – Pre-Advanced
Students at this level have an excellent command of vocabulary and all functional language. They are able to read most types of texts and are able to write accurately with few grammatical errors.
Levels 13 & 14 – Advanced
Students at this level can speak fluently and spontaneously. They are able to infer meaning not explicitly signaled. They understand complex factual and literary writings and can write well-structured texts on complex subjects.
